Jay Jay Okocha Makes Strong Statement on Death of Davido’s Son Ifeanyi

Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha has commiserated with famous Nigerian singer Davido and his family over the painful death of their three-year-old son Ifeanyi who drowned.

Tuesday, November 1, was not a good day for many Nigerians following the announcement that Davido's son drowned in a swimming pool and passed away.

The tragic news came early in the morning and Nigerians initially started praying and hoping that the young boy was alive.

After some hours, the police headquarters in Lagos confirmed the death of Ifeanyi, stressing that they have arrested all the domestic staff in the house of Davido.

Where was Davido then?

There were reports that the singer and Chioma, who is the mother of the deceased had travelled to Ibadan to see some of their family members.

Davido and Chioma have not reacted to the death of their son as reports have it that both of them are in a tough and bad mood which is expected as parents.

Okocha who is a fan of Davido posted a condolence message to Davido on his Instagram account with a photo of the singer, with his fiancee Chioma Rowland and their late son Ifeanyi Adeleke.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor reacted following the passing of Ifeanyi, the three-year-old son of Nigerian music sensation Davido. The police command in Lagos is trying to unravel the misery behind the death of the son of the Afro-pop star, whose real name is David Adeleke.

Eight people were arrested and questioned about the tragic incident, with multiple reports claiming the child drowned in a pool in their home on Banana Island, Lagos.

It is believed that Ifeanyi was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

Fans have continued to express grief while condolence messages are being sent to the Dami Duro crooner.
