Leicester City of England midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will not be part of the Super Eagles squad that will take on the Desert Foxes in an international friendly on September 27.
Algeria will host Nigeria at the New Stadium in Oran, but the Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that Ndidi has left their camp.
The player’s injury status was not disclosed, but the NFF stated that the 25-year-old has returned to his base in England.

“Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is injured and out of the game against Algeria. He has left the team’s camp and returned to England. Get well soon Wilfred.”
Recall that Ndidi missed the Super Eagles 2022 World Cup qualifiers against the Black Stars of Ghana after sustaining an injury.
His last appearance for the Super Eagles was in January this year in the round of 16 of the 2021 AFCON against Tunisia.
Meanwhile, all invited players for the friendly against the North African side have arrived as the team intensify preparation for the clash.
Vanguard confirms that Leicester City forward Kelechi Ihenacho joined the team before Francis Uzoho and Rivers United left wing-back Ebere Duru arrived in the evening.
Coach of the Super Eagles Jose Peseiro is delighted to have all invitees in camp as they will likely participate in a practice match.
