Chelsea and Senegalese stopper Edouard Mendy has named Super Eagles legend Vincent Enyeama among the greatest African goalkeepers of all-time.

There is no doubt about the fact that Vincent Enyeama was one of the best goalkeepers in the world during his active playing days considering his performances in the Super Eagles and all the clubs he played for.

Édouard Mendy has also recorded his name in the history book by winning the Champions League with Chelsea and also lifting the African Cup of Nations title with Senegal.

Mendy's reaction about Africa's greatest goalies

“The greatest African goalkeeper of all time? I think that in Africa, we are lucky to have had a lot of goalkeepers marking their period.
“Goalkeepers love Thomas N’Kono, of course. But recently, we had Tony Sylva who is a true legend of Senegalese football.
“We had Carlos Kameni. We also had Vincent Enyeama.
“In several countries, we were lucky to have a lot of good goalkeepers. It is, therefore, very difficult to name just one.”

Nigeria Crash Out of Under 20 World Cup After Disappointing Defeat Against Netherlands

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Falconets of Nigeria have been sent out of the 2022 Under 20 Women's World Cup after losing to the Netherlands 2-0 on Monday morning, 22 August, in what was a disappointing loss.

Coach Danjuma and his wards started their campaign in this tournament on an impressive note beating France and also went on to win their remaining two games in the Group stages.

Considering this superb performance, the expectations and thoughts of many Nigerians were for the Super Falconets to beat the Netherlands, which they were unable to do.

Before the encounter, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa reached out to the girls enjoining them to make the nation proud and also promised to give them a cash gift.
