William Troost-Ekong is roaring to get back into the pitch with the Super Eagles after missing out on qualification for the 2022 World Cup.

Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after they were eliminated by arch-rivals Ghana on the away goals rule after both sides played a 1-1 draw in Abuja.

According to a report via Complete Sports, Ekong has now thanked Nigerians for their continued support of the national team and promised the Super Eagles will definitely rise again.

“It has been a tough few months for all of us, it’s a big heartache we have to keep on moving. When you fall down you have to stand up again, this team has been down before and came back and I believe we will do it again.
“Lastly, I have to say a big thank you to the fans, I will ask them and encourage them to stay behind the team we all know how much it means for us.”

The Nigeria Football Federation has named Portuguese coach, Jose Poseiro as the new coach of the Super Eagles following the Super Eagles’ failure to book a World Cup ticket.

Super Eagles camp swells as Rangers stars hit US

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles camp in Texas, USA is coming alive as more top European-based players have hit the team’s base.

According to Soccernet, Rangers duo of Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey were the latest to hit the Super Eagles camp, increasing the number of players in camp to 15.

The Super Eagles are in the USA in preparation ahead of two international friendlies against World Cup-bound Mexico and Ecuador in Texas.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported the Super Eagles camp in Texas, United States of America, is bubbling with excitement following the arrival of some top foreign players.

Super Eagles vice-captain, William Troost-Ekong led the delegation of foreign-based players to the team’s camp in Texas.
