Amaju Pinnick has revealed that he prefers foreigners to be in charge of the Super Eagles rather than local coaches because they have a different mindset toward winning.

The Nigerian Football Federation President’s preference is based on his past experiences as he and what he claims to have observed from his current perspective.

According to a report via Soccernet, Pinnick acknowledged the competency of some Nigerian coaches but disclosed they are yet to imbibe the winning mentality into their game.

“There are things that I know in my position that you may not know. The reason I advocate for a foreign coach is that they come in with a different mindset.

“They cannot be swayed by sentiments. All that they are after is success. This is why they come with their tactics and methods.

“It is not that I do not believe in our coaches but they need to develop that mindset. We have coaches that are quite competent but the question is: Are they good enough for us for now? I am a Nigerian and a firm believer in Nigeria but our circumstances are different.”

The NFF are presently seeking a new permanent manager for the Super Eagles following the sacking of the previous technical crew led by Augustine Eguavoen.
