Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa was on the score-sheet helping Fatih Karagumruk to a 5-4 win over Konyaspor on Tuesday evening, GOAL reports.
The Nigerian international was named in the Black Red’s starting line-up against the Anatolian Eagle, a match that ended in a nine-goal thriller after it stretched into extra time.
It was Musa’s second game since he returned to Turkey after Nigeria’s ouster at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations and he justified his inclusion.
How the game went down
The hosts opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Levent Mercan found the back of the net having been assisted by on-loan star Kristijan Bistrovic.
Barely four minutes later, Egypt international Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’ levelled matters for the Anatolian Eagles and then completed his brace in the 21st minute from the penalty spot.
And in the 28th minute, Musa grabbed an equaliser to make it 2-2 having headed home from close range after his initial effort came off the woodwork.
Konyaspor took the lead again in the 60th minute through Amilton Silva before Borini made it 3-3 in the 67th thanks to an assist by Emre Mor.
Borini scored again in the 80th minute but Musa Cagiran ensured the visitors dragged the game into extra-time following a sublime finish.
The victory was sealed for the home side in the 101st minute as Mor capitalized on poor defending from Konyaspor to slot home the winner.

Meanwhile, Musa thanked Nigerians for the show of love despite that the team failed to go past the Round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.

FootballAhmed Musa who was not in action during the 1-0 loss to Tunisia stated that the team gave their very best, but it turned the other way round.
Musa says the team will do better next time as the Super Eagles will now prepare for the World Cup qualifying playoffs against Ghana in March.
Musa donates funds to Mosque in Cameroon
Sports Brief earlier reported that Ahmed Musa who is the captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has donated the sum of N600,000 to Central Mosque in Garoua, Cameroon ahead of Nigeria's clash against Tunisia at AFCON.
The former Premier League star is a devoted Muslim and has many times displayed his faith and belief to his followers on social media.
The report added that the money Ahmed Musa donated is to support the ongoing building project of the Central Mosque in Garoua.
