The question around whether Samir Nurković has signed for Royal AM remains.

The Serbian striker was the subject of much transfer speculation yesterday as news broke that he had signed a big-money deal with Shauwn Mkhize’s Royal AM side.

Nurković is in the last month of his contract with the Amakhosi and free to negotiate with other teams. Many believed that was the case yesterday when KickOff reported the Serbian would be heading to KwaZulu-Natal to join the ambitious Royal AM outfit.

The player’s agent Dajan Simac shut down the claims, saying there was no truth in the rumours. He added that they were still negotiating with the Amakhosi over a new deal. Simac previously claimed that his client had attracted interest from Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly side.

Royal AM’s Chief Executive Officer Sinky Mnisi has now also rubbished the reports of the Serbian’s signing, Goal.com reported.

"Well, I am the one who signs players at Royal AM. However, I know nothing about this," Mnisi said.

Kaizer Chiefs had an option to extend the player’s deal at the Naturena by a year but missed the 31 March deadline to do so. The club then asked if they could make a decision by the end of May, but the player’s representatives rejected this.

Samir Nurković sensationally signs for Royal AM from Kaizer Chiefs, but the agent rubbishes the news as false

Is Samir Nurković a Royal AM player, or isn’t he? That’s the question football fans, and news outlets are currently asking, Sports Brief earlier reported.

The Serbian forward is in the last month of his contract with the Amakhosi and is free to sign for any other club. Kaizer Chiefs had until the end of March to exercise the option of extending his contract by a year but failed to do so.

The Glamour Boys asked to be given until the end of May to decide, but the player’s agent denied this. KickOff reported earlier that Nurković had agreed on a lucrative two-year deal with Shauwn Mkhize’s side with a further option of an additional year.
