Former Inter Milan and FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has made a bold statement about José Mourinho's prowess when it comes to finals of competitions.
Eto'o's former boss, José Mourinho gave credence to his title as 'Special One' when he masterminded Roma's first European final appearance in 31 years on Thursday night.
And the Cameroonian, who worked with the ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid gaffer at Inter Milan, strongly believes Mourinho will be able to add the Europa Conference League to his long list of titles won.
He was asked about Mourinho qualifying for yet another European final and the chances of the Portuguese winning the trophy during a charity event at San Siro.
“If I compliment him now, he’ll get really mad at me,” he said as quoted by Romapress.
“Knowing the Special One, he’ll kill me if I text him now. In his head, he’s already trying to understand what winning strategy to adopt for the final.”
He concluded, “I prefer to wait for him to win before texting him. Because José doesn’t just get to the final. He wins it.”
Mourinho will have an opportunity to become the first ever manager to have won all of UEFA's club competitions (Champions League, Europa League and Conference League) should his AS Roma side beat Feyenoord on May 25 in the finals of the Europa Conference League.
