  • AS Roma manager has been captured in a video monitoring Ghanaian youngster Felix Afena-Gyan
  • Despite being in his maiden season with the Giallorossi, Afena-Gyan has become an integral member of Mourinho's team
  • The teen sensation was recently in serious trouble after he returned to the club's academy facility at the crack of dawn from a nightclub

Footage of AS Roma trainer Jose Mourinho peeping the activities of Felix Afena-Gyan on his phone has surfaced on the internet.

Afena-Gyan recently went into the wrong books of the Portuguese tactician after he returned from a discotheque in the wee hours of the morning.

He was demoted to the Primavera (Roma's youth team) but was restored to the first team a few days later as he helped the Rome-based outfit seal a slim win over Atalanta.

Since the nightclub incident, Mourinho has taken key steps to ensure his protégé does not go wayward.

And it comes as no surprise the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager was captured in a video spying on Afena-Gyan to ascertain what he was doing on his mobile device.

The 19-year-old is expected to make coach Otto Addo's squad to cross swords with Nigeria in the epic World Cup qualifier, which will be played later this month.

Mourinho takes his affection for Afena-Gyan to a different level as he peeps on Ghanaian youngster

Sitting on a couch, Afena-Gyan was fidgeting with his mobile device in a gesture that appeared as if he was responding to messages on social media.

Just like a curious cat, Mourinho stood right behind the Berekum-born forward, trying to see what the prodigy was doing on his phone.

Realising there was no course for alarm, a curious Jose smiled with satisfaction and turned away.

Afena-Gyan makes cameo appearance in Roma's win over Atalanta

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghanaian teenager Felix Afena-Gyan made a cameo appearance for AS Roma in their hard-fought victory over Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.

A Tammy Abraham strike was enough to hand Jose Mourinho's side their second consecutive win in Serie A.

Afena-Gyan started the game from the bench and he was introduced late in the game after he replaced Rick Karsdorp in the 83rd minute.
