Barcelona's Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is a better goalkeeper than Real Madrid shot stopper Thibaut Courtois at the moment.

That is the opinion of legendary Real Madrid custodian Iker Casillas.

In an interaction with Movistar+ on TikTok, the former Spain captain was asked to choose who the better goalkeeper between the two.

The 41-year-old did not hesitate in picking Ter Stegen, who conceded his first La Liga goal from open play against Real Madrid on Sunday.

“Ter Stegen or Courtois? Ter Stegen, he’s playing pretty well right now,” Casillas said, via Madrid Zone.

How Ter Stegen has performed this season

Ter Stegen is on the brink of winning the Zamora Trophy this campaign, having kept an astonishing 19 clean sheets for Xavi Hernandez's side, Barca Universal reports.

The former Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper has enjoyed a splendid 2022/23 season thus far, conceding just nine goals.

His performances have been critical in Barça sitting atop the La Liga standings, 12 points clear of bitterest rivals Real Madrid.
