Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos appears to have reversed his decision to retire at the end of the 2022/23 season after having a change of heart.
Kroos who maintains he would love to retire at Real Madrid had earlier on revealed he was going to hang up his boots when the current campaign ends with his contract due to end in June 2023.
According to Football Espana, Kroos has now settled on staying at the Santiago Bernabeu and will extend his contract for a further year with the reigning La Liga champions.

This will come as good news to Real Madrid fans as Kroos has been a key member of the club’s midfield alongside Luka Modric after joining the club in 2014 from Bayern Munich.
The German midfielder who is currently 33 years old has won four UEFA Champions League trophies and two La Liga titles with Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Toni Kroos is thankful for making his 400th appearance for Real Madrid as the reigning La Liga champions battled from a goal down to earn a hard fought 3-1 win against Espanyol on Saturday, March 11.
Kroos took to Twitter to express his appreciation as he acknowledged his time in Real Madrid could have gone a bit differently.
Kroos becomes the sixth foreign player to reach the landmark behind the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo, Karim Benzema, Roberto Carlos, and Luka Modric.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Toni Kroos has gained legendary status for Real Madrid after the midfielder made his 400th appearance for the Spanish giants in their La Liga clash against Espanyol.
The German was named in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting line-up and even provided an assist as Real Madrid kept their hopes of retaining their La Liga title alive against the Catalan club.
Kroos has now become just the sixth foreign player in the history of Real Madrid to make 400 appearances for the club.
