  • Real Madrid recorded a hard-fought 2-0 win at Osasuna on Saturday
  • Los Blancos are unbeaten in their last five games after a poor start
  • Their next seven games in various leagues will define their season

After a disastrous start to the year, things are starting to look up for Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid.

Last season's La Liga and Champions League winners have won their last two matches, beating both Osasuna 2-0 and Elche 4-0 with relative ease.

Those results have reignited their hopes of reclaiming the Spanish Primera Division despite being eight points behind El Clasico rivals, Barcelona and they still have a chance of winning this season's UCL crown.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool - Champions League

Real Madrid were handed a tough draw in the Champions League round of 16 as they lock horns against familiar foes, Liverpool.

The defending champions overcame the resilience of Jurgen Klopp's side as they became victorious in last year's final in Paris.

Los Blancos also defeated the Reds in 2018 and in the 2020/21 quarter-finals, so a spot of repeat is in order.

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid - La Liga

Real Madrid have some good memories of Atletico Madrid too, famously beating them on two occasions to win the UEFA Champions League.

Los Blancos defeated their capital neighbours earlier this season too, recording a 2-0 victory at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Carlo Ancelotti's side also eliminated Atleti from the Copa del Rey after recording a 3-1 victory at home.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona - Copa del Rey first leg

Real Madrid have already faced Barcelona two times this season, winning one in La Liga and losing the other in the Spanish Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia.

That defeat to their arch-nemesis was one of the low points of the season and the club will be aiming to prove how they have turned a corner since then by claiming victory.

Real Betis vs Real Madrid - La Liga

Things went well for Real Madrid the last time they faced Real Betis. Goals from Rodrygo de Goes and Vinicius Junior were enough to cancel out Sergio Canales' opener at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Three days after facing Barcelona in the Spanish Cup, Ancelotti and his charges will travel to Estadio Benito Villamarín to face Manuel Pellegrini's side. Real Madrid pipped Betis 1-0 away from home last season.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool - Champions League

Real Madrid have not lost in their backyard to Liverpool since they suffered a 1-0 defeat courtesy of a Yossi Benayoun header back in 2009.

The Spanish giants won their next two fixtures at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium against the English club.

Liverpool have an arduous task of ending their losing streak this time around and it will largely depend on how they do in the first leg. This match will definitely be the Merseysider's biggest game of the season yet.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid - La Liga

The match could be pivotal in the race for the La Liga Santander title and will take place at Spotify Camp Nou in March.

As things stand, it looks as though Barcelona and Real Madrid will be competing for the league title so this has all the makings of - well, a classic!

After beating Barcelona 3-1 at the home in October last year, Real Madrid will be hoping to record a double victory over their arch-nemesis.

Real Madrid's upcoming fixtures:

February 21: vs Liverpool (Champions League)

February 25: vs Atletico (La Liga)

March 2: vs Barcelona (Copa Del Rey, first leg)

March 5: vs Betis (a Liga)

March 11: vs Espanyol (La Liga)

March 15: vs Liverpool (Champions League)

March 19: vs Barcelona (La Liga)

Real Madrid reject Vinicius bid

Meanwhile, Real Madrid has again demonstrated that the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium is the home for the best football talents on the planet and they will not be forced into selling their stars.

The La Liga giants proved that again after turning down a whopping €135 million offer from Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain for winger, Vinicius Junior.

According to Sportskeeda, the French club desperately wanted the signing, but Madrid's president, Florentino Perez outright denied it.

Hazard questioned about weight issues

Real Madrid attacker, Eden Hazard has often faced criticism over his weight and fitness struggles, and that criticism followed him to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Belgium star was left stunned when a journalist brought up his weight during a recent press conference, Sports Brief previously reported.

Hazard was fielding questions after Belgium’s 2-0 defeat to Morocco when an Egyptian journalist brought up his apparent weight gain.
