La Liga has refuted Vinicius Junior’s accusations about the league body not taking decisive action, to protect players from racism in the Spanish top flight league.

Vinicius was subjected to racist chants by opposition supporters during Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory away to Real Valladolid, prompting the Brazilian to criticise the league body afterwards.

According to 90MIN, La Liga has now hit back at the Real Madrid star’s claims, with president Javier Tebas providing a list of evidence of the league's responses to previous examples of racist abuse.

Tebas described the criticism from Vinicius as unfair and untrue, claiming all incidents are usually reported to the Anti-Violence Commission and the Hate Crimes Prosecutor's office.

La Liga also assured that it will continue to lead the fight against the scourge that is violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport - not only with words, but also with actions.

Valladolid condemns racism against Vinicius

Meanwhile, Real Valladolid has expressed their disappointment at the actions of their fans, after Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior was racially abused during their La Liga game, Football Espana reports.

Valladolid confirmed that an inquiry is underway to identify those who were involved, and revealed they are ready to take disciplinary measures against those involved in the incidents.

The club's fans were filmed on Friday directing monkey noises at Vinicius as he walked around the pitch in front of the home section.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Vinicius being displeased with La Liga, with the Real Madrid forward taking aim at the league after he was racially abused by Real Valladolid fans.

Vini Jr criticised the league for failing to take action, saying they allowed racists to continue from those attending games.
