  • Karim Benzema netted a hat-trick as Real Madrid walloped Chelsea 3-1 in the Champions League right at the Stamford Bridge
  • Since leaving Italian giants Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku is yet to hit top form at Chelsea managing just 12 goals in 36 appearances
  • Former Inter striker Aldo Serena has suggested that Benzema is more composed in front of goal than Lukaku

A former Inter Milan of Italy striker Aldo Serena has described Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema as a more composed finisher than Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

Real set up a date with the Blues in the last eight of this season's Champions League after seeing off Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16.

Karim Benzema was the man of the moment for Los Blancos as he netted a hat-trick to inspire his side to a deserved win.

Real Madrid's trip to Stamford Bridge was significant for the La Liga side as they were out in search of their first historic victory over the west Londoners and the Frenchman produced a 5-star show on the night.

However, since leaving the Italian side Inter Milan in August, Romelu Lukaku has only managed 12 goals in 36 appearances and has dropped down the pecking order under Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

Asked to compare the two, Serena posted to social media as per Football Italia:

“It’s about how they react to changing circumstances.
“Some were challenged and lost all confidence, while another started from the position of support for Cristiano Ronaldo, but with that departure he took the throne, boosting his self-confidence and character.”

Benzema becomes 4th all-time scorer in Champions League

On the other hand, the European football governing body (UEFA) has released a list of the top ten all-time highest goal scorers in a post via its Twitter handle following the completion of this season’s quarter-final first-leg fixtures on Wednesday.

Frenchman Benzema took his tally in the prestigious competition to 82 as he is now the fourth-highest goalscorer in the prestigious competition.

The 34-year-old is just three goals behind third-placed Robert Lewandowski in the latest rankings released by UEFA.

Sadio Mane interrupts teammate’s delightful interview

Sports Brief earlier reported that there was a delightful moment post-match in the Liverpool-Benfica clash as Sadio Mane enjoyed a warm moment with teammate Luiz Diaz.

The duo were instrumental for Liverpool as the Reds cruised to a 3-1 win over their Portuguese counterparts in the first leg of the quarter-final.

Diaz was the one who assisted Mane with the Senegalese’s goal, it made sense that the pair appreciated each other after the match.
