  • PSG's spectacular collapse in the Champions League has eroded the giant strides the Parisians have made domestically
  • This has birthed a suggestion from a popular football pundit that Kylian Mbappe seek European glory at another club
  • Mbappe, who is PSG's all-time top scorer, is a keen admirer of Real Madrid and almost joined the team previously

Kylian Mbappe has been advised to leave Paris Saint-Germain following the club's repeated failure in the Champions League.

The French giants have only managed to surpass the first round of the knockout phase twice in the last seven seasons.

Wednesday night's 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich across two legs adds to the club's inability to exorcise their European ghosts, despite the massive investments made by the club owners.

This has led to a brutal suggestion from Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher that PSG's record scorer, Mbappe ditch the club for greener pastures.

The former footballer-turned-pundit urged the 24-year-old to make the move to Real Madrid, a club renowned for their exploits in the Champions League.

“The sooner Mbappé is at Real Madrid, the better. He has got to leave,” Carragher said while on punditry duties, via MadridXtra.

Regardless of the situation in Paris, Mbappe has taken the defeat in his stride and urged PSG to focus their attention on winning the Ligue 1 title.

Mbappe 'hurt' after UCL elimination

Sports Brief also reported on Mbappe expressed disappointment at PSG being eliminated from the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Parisians were hoping to overturn a first-leg 1-0 deficit but ended up suffering a 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture, bowing out of the competition.

The French giants never found a foothold in the tie and bar near misses, Bayern were in complete control and deservedly booked a last eight spot.

Mbappe named GOAT successor

Despite UCL heartbreak, Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry is backing Mbappe to fill the void after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi inevitably hang up their boots.

Sports Brief previously reported on the two veterans sharing 12 Ballon d'Ors between them to put themselves well into the argument about the greatest of all-time.

However, Henry believes Mbappe is the only player who can replace the legendary duo at the top of football and is backing him to become a GOAT in his own right.
