  • Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi turned on the heat as Paris Saint-Germain brushed aside Olympique Marseille
  • Mbappe grabbed a brace, while Leo Messi chalked two assists and a goal
  • The pair also chalked individual success aside from helping the French giants consolidate their spot at the summit of the league table

The Frenchman scored a sensational volley after he was put through on goal by a sumptuous Lionel Messi assist.

Mbappe's goal against Marseille was a complete replica of his strike against Messi's Argentina in the Grand Finale of the World Cup.

While the Messi-Mbappe combo helped PSG exact revenge on Marseille after their French Cup loss against the same opposition, the duo also achieved personal feats.

Messi equalled Cristiano Ronaldo's club goals of 700 with his first-half strike.

Mbappe, on the other hand, became PSG's all-time top scorer with 200 goals, drawing level with Edinson Cavani.

Mbappe's World Cup goal

Mbappe's strike erased Argentina's 2-0 lead, sending the game to extra time, where he scored again before agonizingly losing on penalties to his PSG teammate.

Ironically, Mbappe's goal was set up by Messi, who was on the receiving end of the Frenchman's amazing finish.

Here is the video of the goal:

Mbappe, Messi share bromance at training

Lionel Messi and his Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Kylian Mbappe, continue to bask in their new-found bromance.

The pair combined to rescue PSG from the jaws of defeat, with Messi's stoppage-time free-kick ending their three-game losing streak last Sunday.

In a photo shared on social media, seen by Sports Brief, the PSG frontmen shared a hearty laugh as the Frenchman played the role of a goalkeeper with the Argentine trying to lob a ball past him.

Moroccan star names Mbappe as tough

Sports Brief earlier reported that Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi is rated as one of the world’s best defenders, but the Moroccan has faced tough times against a few forwards in his career.

The 24-year-old, who started his career with Real Madrid, has featured in four of Europe’s top five leagues, including La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1.

Hakimi speaking with Prime Video Sport France and captured by Madrid Universal, revealed PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe as one of his toughest opponents ever.
