- Messi is yet to sign a new deal with the French champions with his present deal set to expire in the summer
Paris Saint-Germain supporters have held Lionel Messi responsible for their elimination from the Coupe de France after their defeat to Olympique Marseille.
Ruslan Malinovskyi's strike was enough to seal a 2-1 win for Marseille against the Parisians, thereby bundling Messi and co out of the competition in the round of 16.

Others also insinuated that Mbappe and not Messi has been the one carrying the PSG team since the arrival of the Argentine superstar.
Some angry supporters also called for Messi’s contract not to be renewed by the Paris club when it expires in the summer.
The Coupe de France is the only tournament Messi has failed to win in his career following PSG’s elimination in the last two editions.
Messi told to leave PSG
Meanwhile, former PSG winger Jerome Rothen believes that the French club should steer clear of offering the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi a new contract, Sport Bible reports.
Messi has been with PSG since the summer of 2021 after signing a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions following his exit from cash-strapped Barcelona.
PSG are understood to be keen to extend Messi's stay in the French capital, but the Argentine is yet to commit his immediate future to the French champions.
