Mbappe lasted just over twenty minutes during the Ligue 1 fixture before he limped off the field, BBC reported.

At the time coach, Christophe Galtier said it looked like more of a knock than a muscle problem, but added that they had to wait for tests to be conducted.

What did the examinations find?

PSG later released a medical statement that stated Mbappe suffered an injury to his left thigh and was expected to be unavailable for three weeks.

Nagelsmann remains doubtful

According to Marca, Munich's coach does not foresee Mbappe missing a huge game like the Champions League encounter.

"I don't know what he has, but I expect him to play. They are being very unclear on their website saying up to three weeks, Nagelsmann said.

He added that he was preparing for the tie by expecting Mbappe to be a part of the squad.

What about Sadio Mane?

While Nagelsmann is doubtful of Mbappe's involvement in the first leg, he did confirm that Senegalese attacker, Sadio Mane, would not be available.

Mane was injured in November 2022, right before the FIFA World Cup got underway.

Fans react to Mbappe's injury

While some PSG fans are concerned about Mbappe's injury, others believe it may be good for the team.

@footgolpost:

"I think it's good news for PSG. I have no doubt about his talent but his presence on the field handicapped the team because of his new contract. Too much ego."

@DerrickAD7:

"Mbappe knows exactly what Bayern does to small clubs Bro doesn't want to be part."

@someone1kk:

"I hope Kylian Mbappe and Neymar recover from their injuries."

@obinzeru:

Mbappe could miss first leg

Paris Saint-Germain have suffered a huge blow, with forward Kylian Mbappe set to miss the upcoming UEFA Champions League knockout stage with an injury.

The 23-year-old suffered a thigh injury during his side's Ligue 1 clash against Montpellier on Thursday night, Sports Brief reported.

The Frenchman hooked off in the 21st minute with an apparent leg injury after colliding with a Montpellier defender.
