Argentina captain Lionel Messi has finally won the trophy that has eluded him for his entire football career - the FIFA World Cup.
Argentina defeated France 4-2 on penalties after a completely ludicrous 120 minutes of football.
An appalling first-half display by Les Bleus saw them go a goal down when Ousmane Dembele conceded a penalty, after he tripped Di Maria inside the box.
Messi then stepped up and sent Hugo Lloris the wrong way from 12 yards.

Di Maria himself made it two, after a swift counter saw a fine Argentina move end with Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister playing the ball across for the Juventus winger to score.
Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe then grabbed the spotlight, with two goals in two minutes to pull France level and force extra time.
Messi bagged his brace in the 108th from close range, but Mbappe converted another penalty with two minutes remaining in extra time.
Eventually it went to penalties, and it went the way of Argentina, with Sevilla right back Gonzalo Montiel scoring the decisive spot-kick.
