Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted the La Liga giants will try to re-sign the 35-year-old forward whom he says is always welcomed at Camp Nou.

Messi will be offered another two-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions in a bid to shutdown the rumours of an impending return to Barcelona.

PSG will not entice Messi with money

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain will not offer Lionel Messi more money or luxuries to persuade him to extend his contract with the French champions, El Futbolero reports.

The Ligue 1 giants rather hope to convince the 35-year-old forward to stay in the French capital by renewing the contract of his best friend in the team, Marco Verratti.

PSG hopes keeping Verratti in Paris will help to convince Messi to also extend his contract with the club and shutdown any possible return to Barcelona next summer.

Messi says Guardiola ruined football

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Lionel Messi and Pep Guardiola make one formidable team. The player and the coach spent four successful seasons together at Barcelona, in what was a golden period for the team.

Barcelona won three La Liga titles and two Champions League titles during those years.

Despite the success they had together, Messi believes that Guardiola actually harmed football with his philosophy.
