A fresh angle has brought some clarity on what led to the touchline argument between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp.

On Saturday, April 27, Liverpool’s hopes of claiming a second league title in three years were effectively ended after dropping more points, this time to West Ham United.

Andy Robertson have his side the lead, but West Ham equalized through Jarrod Bowen.

Liverpool retook the lead in the 65th minute through Alphonse Areola’s goal to briefly get the Reds back in the title race, but Michail Antonio’s equalizer in the 77th minute all but ended Jurgen Klopp’s side’s hopes.

Salah and Klopp incident

With the scores deadlocked, Klopp made one last attempt to go for the win by introducing Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez in the 80th minute.

Before coming on, Salah was seen in a heated argument with Klopp as Nunez tried to intervene to calm things down.

The incident has since led to mass speculation about what transpired, but Salah was visibly unhappy in the warm-up after being left on the bench.

A separate angle of the incident shows there was tension moments prior to the public altercation between Salah and Klopp.

If the video is anything to go by, Salah openly snubbed Klopp’s attempt to shake his hand as the Egyptian was preparing to come on.

Klopp then responded by leading towards his star forward before ushering some inaudible words, prompting Salah to respond.

Klopp, Salah speak on viral incident

Speaking on the incident after the game, Klopp played the incident down, saying he spoke with Salah in the dressing room and “it’s done”.

But Salah appeared to have a contrary take with his very curious demeanour when asked about what transpired with his outgoing boss.

He said, according to SPORTbible:

“If I speak today there will be fire".

What next for Liverpool

Liverpool are two points behind Arsenal, who have a game in hand.

More worryingly, the Reds are still behind Manchester City, who could go seven points clear of the Merseysiders if they win their two games in hand.

The Red's next game is against another London side, Tottenham Hotspur, on May 5.

Klopp’s reaction to Jarrod Bowen's goal

Sports Brief also reported on Jurgen Klopp’s reaction to Jarrod Bowen’s goal as the German appeared resigned to Liverpool’s fate.

Sections of fans believed Klopp’s reaction summed up his state of mind, as he had previously admitted he was “running out of energy”.
