The French attacker proved to be too strong and carried on running before unleashing a powerful curled effort that beat defenders and keeper alike. The ball nestled into the corner of the net.
Gatti was shown a yellow for his attempt at stopping Mbappé from scoring.
Mbappé hunts down Salah
The goal was Mbappé’s seventh of the Champions League campaign, taking him level with Mohamed Salah in the race for the golden boot. He has also notched up two assists in the Champions League this season.
On the other hand, Messi has scored four goals for the French side and notched up four assists thus far in the tournament.
