  • FFF president Noel Le Graet may have just announced Paris Saint-Germain's new manager at the end of the season
  • With current PSG boss, Mauricio Pochettino's future uncertain amid several exit rumours, the French Football chief believes Zidane might take over from the Argentine
  • Zinedine Zidane has been inactive as a coach since bringing his second stint with Real Madrid to a close

Erstwhile Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane could succeed Mauricio Pochettino as the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, according to the French Football Federation (FFF) president Noel Le Graet.

The French football chief hinted he will not be surprised should Zidane take up the role as manager of PSG in the summer.

Zidane, who has been out of coaching since the end of the 2020-21 season, has been linked to the PSG job alongside Spurs coach Antonio Conte following Mauricio Pochettino's underwhelming European campaign.

Aside from the PSG coaching role, Zidane has been tipped as the successor of Didier Deschamps as the head coach of the France national team, but FFF boss Noel Le Graet believes the three-time World Best player might fancy a role at club level again.

"You have to be careful what you say. Zidane has shown Madrid that he has qualities that were barely imaginable," the FFF chief explained to L'Equipe as quoted by GOAL when asked if Zizou could be considered as a successor to Didier Deschamps in the France post.
"In the minds of the French, he may be a successor. But that's not my goal. We'll see. If Didier and I go our separate ways, he will surely be one of the options.
"Do you see me saying today: 'Is it Zidane who will replace Deschamps?' We'll see. Zidane might take on PSG. For the France team, you have to be free.
"But today, we are going to do everything to put Didier in the best conditions to win this World Cup."

Pochettino reveals future plans amid PSG exit talks

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mauricio Pochettino says he plans to continue in his position as Paris Saint-Germain next season despite speculations suggesting the Argentine could be fired.

Pochettino’s future has been under intense scrutiny after failing to guide PSG to the UEFA Champions League title as they were embarrassingly eliminated in the round-of-16 by Real Madrid.

According to a report via the BBC, the Argentine coach has now confirmed he and French striker, Kylian Mbappe will not be leaving PSG at the end of the season when questioned about his future.
