Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has revealed the message he received from Lionel Messi after M the Citizens’ dramatic collapse in the Champions League on Wednesday, May 4.
City were moments from reaching the final, and were leading Real Madrid 5-3 on aggregate by the 90th minute, but two quickfire goals from substitute Rodrygo stunned Pep Guardiola’s side and the game was forced into extra time.
Karim Benzema then scored from the penalty spot in the 95th minute to completely turn the tie on its head and send Real Madrid fans into delirium.
The stunning 3-1 result was just as unbelievable to Lionel Messi as it was the rest of the world, and the Paris Saint Germain star was quick to express his feelings to Aguero.
Aguero, who has developed a knack of streaming himself watching football matches, was on ESPN star alongside his former international and Man City teammate Carlos Tevez.
During the stream, the former Man City striker revealed the message he received from Messi.
According to Aguero, the message read: “Stop playing around! It can't be!”

Interestingly enough, Messi was also on the receiving end of Real Madrid’s fightback earlier in the season while representing his new club PSG.

Cameras zoomed in to Guardiola, and the Spaniard looked deep in thought and at some point, he buried his face in his hands, despite his side enjoying a 4-3 lead prior to kick-off.
