Thabo Rakhale Opens Up About Unexplained Orlando Pirates Exit

Thabo Rakhale has spoken out about his limp exit from Orlando Pirates.

In the middle of the 2010s, he was undoubtedly the Buccaneers' most popular, acclaimed for his amazing skill and effectiveness in inspiring his team to victory.

However, it all ended with a damp squib, with Rakhale being released from the squad after falling out of favour.

Speaking about this for the first time, The Citizen quoted Rakhale in a radio interview as saying:

“It was one of those things when coaches come and go; a new coach can say you are not in his plans. Things started to go sideways for me, I started being benched. The coaches were Micho and Rulani Mokwena at that time. I wouldn’t say they didn’t like how I played, but maybe for their system, I wasn’t suitable."

Rakhale said that honestly speaking, he believed he never got a chance to adjust to the system the new coaches wanted players to adapt to.

“Because when they came the first thing they did was to change the formation of the team, and the structure of how we should play..."
