Victor Osimhen Wins Serie A Goal of The Month For January 2023

The Goal of the month award for January 20223 has been won by Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen who has been in stunning form this season in the Italian Serie A.

The name Osimhen keeps ringing the bells daily in Italy and Napoli fans will definitely be happy to be having the Nigerian international in their squad.

Interestingly, the former Lille strongman is also leading the goalscoring chart this season in the Serie A as he is currently on 14 goals and has been tipped to win the golden boot.

Osimhen's goal against AS Roma in the 17th minute on Sunday, 29 January, was picked as the best for the outgone month.

The Nigerian received an excellent pass in the box and chested it brilliantly before firing it powerfully into the top corner of the net.

Napoli topping the table

After 20 games played so far this season in the Serie A, Napoli are still topping the table with 53 points and they have only lost one game.

Sports Brief spoke with Super Eagles coordinator Pascal Patrick who expressed happiness about Osimhen's form this season in Italy.

Osimhen, Ademola Lookman nominated

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how two big Nigerian stars, Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen have both been nominated for the January Player of the Month award in the Serie A on the back of their impressive performances.

The two Super Eagles stars are currently the shining lights of the Italian top flight, as they keep netting the goals for their clubs in all competitions.

Osimhen and Lookman are also topping the Serie A goalscoring chart, with one of them being tipped to end up winning the league Golden Boot.

In history, no Nigerian player has ever won the coveted goal award in Italy.
