FootballBrandon Truter Fires Shots at Swallows FC, Owner Panyaza Lesufi Responds to Truter’s Claims He Wasn’t Paid
- Brandon Truter has launched a verbal tirade accusing his former employer Swallows FC of not paying him his settlement
- Brandon Truter has accused Swallows' supporters of threatening him and his family, forcing him to resign
- Swallows FC President Panyaza Lesufi has hit back at Brandon Truter over claims that he was not paid out by the club
There is a war of words erupting between AmaZulu's Brandon Truter and his former employer, Swallows FC.
Truter was let go by Swallows in November last year after a string of poor results at the Dube Birds.
Truter returned to the DStv Premiership in March this year when he replaced Benni McCarthy at AmaZulu but is still firing shots at his former employer.
AmaZulu took on Swallows on 3 May with Truter’s new side winning 1-0. After the game, Truter fired shots at his former club, claiming that he was threatened by supporters and forced out of the club. He also claimed that he was ill-treated at the club and not paid a settlement, SABC Sport reported.
“The way I left Swallows was not nice. My family got threatened and supporters came to my home and training and forced me to resign. They forced me out of the door and I had to resign to protect my family plus I did not get paid my settlement,” Truter said.
Truter didn’t end there with his verbal tirade, taking shots at Swallows’ new coach, Dylan Kerr. Truter labeled Kerr as a ‘cheap import’ and said that as a foreign coach he should be doing better than the local coaches, iDiskiTimes confirmed.
Truter’s accusations have not sat well with club president Panyaza Lesufi. Lesufi, who is also the Gauteng MEC for Education hit back at Truter after his accusations. Lesufi added that the club’s only focus now was on the relegation fight, Sowetan LIVE reported.
“I am not going to honour those accusations with a response. I won’t stoop so low because as a club we are focused on one thing, and that is the battle to survive relegation. Getting into exchanges and debates is not a luxury we can afford right now,” Lesufi said.

FootballThe verbal sparring is set to continue between the two sides as Truter added that he would be approaching the Premier Soccer League (PSL) in order to get the money he claims that the club owes him.
AmaZulu remain unbeaten under Brandon Truter, beat Swallows while Supersport United and Stellenbosch draw
AmaZulu FC remained unbeaten under new coach Brandon Truter, as they beat his former employer, Swallows FC, by a single goal in the DStv Premiership earlier today, Sports Brief earlier reported.
Usuthu have now picked up three wins and one draw with Truter in charge. Truter was brought in to replace Benni McCarthy after AmaZulu owner Sandile Zungu admitted that the club needed change.
Speaking ahead of the game, Truter admitted that it was sentimental for him to play against Swallows but wanted to walk away with the three points. Truter got his wish thanks to Sphesihle Maduna’s goal in the 68th minute of the game.
