Zuma’s suspension comes a few days after scoring his first goal for the club, as he netted for the Amakhosi in their 2-1 defeat to Cape Town City.

The Amakhosi released a statement in which they announced that the player would be suspended with immediate effect, The South African reported. Zuma was suspended for the second time for breaching the club’s code of conduct.

The player will now face a disciplinary hearing before he can be considered for selection again. In the statement, the club said that they were disappointed to report that Zuma was ‘suspended once again pending an internal disciplinary process.’

Zuma’s agent Basia Michaels, though, has hit out about how the club handled the matter. Michaels alleged that she only found out about the suspension via social media and received no notification from the club, SABC Sport reported.

“It’s is very disappointing to find out something this important via Twitter. We haven’t received any formal communication from the club with regards to what has been said about my client,” said Michaels.

Michaels added that the club did not even provide a formal report to her to explain why the player was suspended.

“I am very disappointed with how this has been done,” Michaels added.

Zuma will miss Chiefs’ next game against Marumo Gallants tomorrow evening.

Arthur Zwane gives an honest assessment of Kaizer Chiefs, admits some players may not be good enough for the club

The end of the season could not come fast enough for Kaizer Chiefs. On the back of four straight defeats, things are not looking promising for the Amakhosi, even after firing Stuart Baxter, Sports Brief reported.

Interim co-coach, Arthur Zwane, admitted a need for change and rebuilding at the club. Kaizer Chiefs have not won a trophy in seven seasons, a stat indicative of just how the Soweto giants have fallen.

After the recent 2-1 loss to Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium, Arthur Zwane admitted that some players were not good enough to represent a big brand like Kaizer Chiefs, Times LIVE earlier reported.
