FootballGary Neville slams Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo after Manchester United draw
- Gary Neville blasts Ronaldo and Fernandes for failing to lead by example during Man United’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle
- Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo put up an abysmal display but were both guilty of complaining several times in the game
- Ronaldo again opted to head straight for the tunnel at the final whistle instead of going over to thank the fans who made the trip
Man United legend Gary Neville has slammed Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo for their negative attitudes during the club 1-1 draw with Newcastle.
United were lucky to get a point in the game where they were largely second-best. Ralf Rangnick’s men will have David De Gea to thank for his crucial saves late in the game to hand the Red Devils a point.
It was Newcastle who drew the first blood as Allan Saint-Maximin danced past two defenders and curled home past David de Gea in the 7th minute.
Eddie Howe’s men missed several chances to double their lead but Rangnick’s changes in the second half paid dividends as substitute Edinson Cavani scored the equaliser on 70 minutes for Man United.
But one of the talking points from last night will be Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes' abysmal display as both stars failed to come to the party for United.
They were both guilty of complaining several times in the game, despite the fact they were far from their best.
Ronaldo again opted to head straight for the tunnel at the final whistle instead of going over to thank the fans who made the trip to the North East, a reaction which made Neville angry.
"I said it after the Everton game earlier on in the season when Cristiano walked off and I thought it put pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He’s run off again tonight,” Neville said on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football and cited on Express
