Ferguson's history at United
Arguably the most successful manager in Premier League history, Ferguson could have shared some nuggets of wisdom with the current holder of the office. The Scot manager led the Red Devils to a treble in 1999. He retired in 2013, having won 13 Premier League titles.
The 81-year-old manager has remained a regular during Manchester United games. The club has endured turbulent patches since he retired with David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick having difficult moments at the Theatre of Dreams.
United entertain La Liga leaders Barcelona on Thursday, looking to progress to the next round before facing Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
