According to Sportbible, the charges were dropped last Thursday by the Crown Prosecution Service, after key witnesses withdrew months before the commencement of his trial.

It is understood that Greenwood remains suspended, with the club embarking on an internal investigation before making a decision on his future at Old Trafford.

Greenwood updates Instagram bio

While the likelihood of Greenwood ever playing for Man United again remains unclear, it seems the youngster still has his heart at the Theatre of Dreams.

This was proven by the 21-year-old recently updating his Instagram bio to include footwear giant, Nike and his club.

Greenwood had initially removed both brands from his socials in the wake of his misfortunes. The star forward had also deleted a couple of photos from his feed, retaining just nine of himself in Man United colours.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have appeared to flourish without the youngster, who had begun establishing himself as an integral squad player for the team.

The Old Trafford dwellers are currently placed third in the Premier League standings and are the only English team still challenging for four titles.

Greenwood breaks silence on charges

Sports Brief earlier reported on Greenwood breaking his silence, after the charges of assault and coercive behaviour were dropped against him.

He breathed a sigh of relief that the case was over and thanked those around him for their support during the year-long incident that jeopardised his career.

It remains to be seen what course of action Man United will take regarding the forward, with the club believed to still be investigating.
