According to The Sun, the forward's unanticipated departure from the Theatre of Dreams happened when he was on international duty with Portugal at the 2022 World Cup.

That means that the 37-year-old never got the opportunity to say a proper farewell to his teammates at Man United.

Ronaldo invites United stars to Al Nassr

SunSport now reports that the Portugal international is arranging a reunion with some of his closest friends at Man United.

The general idea is that the United pals will visit his homeland or even visit him in Saudi Arabia.

Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Harry Maguire, and Raphael Varane are the four United stars said to have been invited for the visit.

“There are still a few lads here who have nothing but respect for Ronny and were sad how it all ended, because they never got to say a proper goodbye," The Sun quoted a source privy to the developments.
“Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Raphael Varane are all mates," the source added.

Ronaldo faulted for Ittihad defeat

Sports Brief earlier reported that Al-Nassr coach, Rudi Garcia has appeared to put the blame for his side's elimination from the Saudi Super Cup on Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garcia's charges, led by their new superstar, bowed out of the competition at the semi-final stage following a 3-1 loss to Al-Ittihad on Thursday evening.

Reflecting on his side's exit, Garcia identified a chance missed by Ronaldo as the moment which turned the tie away from Al-Nassr's favour.
