Jesse Lingard was treated to a rapturous reception by Manchester United fans on his first return to Old Trafford.
Lingard was part of the Nottingham Forrest team that played against Manchester United on December 27th. It was his first-ever appearance against his boyhood club.
Head Coach Steve Cooper threw him in right from the start but he had to leave the pitch prematurely in the 53rd minute with an injury. Lewis O'Brien took his place.

Manchester United vs Nottingham Forrest
The England international could not make an impact against his former side as goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial helped the Red Devils to a 2-0 lead before halftime. Fred added a late goal to ensure maximum points.
As Lingard went off, he was treated to a very warm reception by the Manchester United faithful. He joined the club when he was seven years old and scored some crucial goals over the years.
The win moves Manchester United to within a point of fourth place with a game in hand while Nottingham's relegation woes compound as they remain just a point from the last spot.
