Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United career appears to be over after the sensational interview with Piers Morgan.
The Portuguese superstar slammed his own club Manchester United from several angles as he went for the club’s owners, coach Erik ten Hag and the club in general.
After the tell-all interview, Ronaldo seems to have severed ties with United, as the Premier League goes into a six-week break to pave way for the World Cup.
His explosive interview comes at an opportune time as well. By the time club football resumes, the January transfer window will be open.

This could pave way for Ronaldo’s exit, with United reportedly in pole position to rip up his lucrative contract.
According to Express Sport, Chelsea could now be tempted to take up Ronaldo’s services, since the Portuguese superstar seems to have no loyalty towards Manchester United anymore.
The Blues were initially among the clubs linked with Ronaldo in the summer when he expressed his desire to leave the club.
But at the time, the then Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel disapproved the move on grounds that the former Real Madrid man might not be able to fit into a modern footballing system.
With Tuchel sacked by Chelsea, the major hurdle in signing Ronaldo now seems to be out of the way and a transfer is not impossible.
Transfer guru Ben Jacobs further speculates that Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is keen on making another approach to Chelsea once again.

Ronaldo solely focused on Portugal
Sports Brief also earlier reported on Ronaldo’s first social media statement after his explosive interview.
Ronaldo, who is currently training with the Portugal national team, said he was solely focused on helping his side in the World Cup.
On social media, he shared a photo alongside some of his Portugal teammates along with the caption:
“Total and absolute focus on National Teamwork. United group, towards one objective: realize the dream of all Portuguese people!”
