Argentine youngster Alejandro Garnacho exhibited admirable respect towards Cristiano Ronaldo, after appearing to ask for the 37-year-old’s permission to do his new celebration.
The 18-year-old finally got off the mark for United, after scoring the opening and only goal of the Europa League final group game against Real Sociedad.
For his goal, Garnacho was played through by Ronaldo, showing decent pace and composure to score and stun fans at the Anoeta Stadium.
It was obviously a massive moment for Garnacho, and it was made more significant by the fact that the assist came from one of the youngster’s idols.

After his goal, the young attacker celebrated with his teammates and took the chance to perform a celebration that has now gone global.
As reported on Sportbible, moments before that, as he was being embraced by his teammates, Garnacho had a brief engagement with Cristiano where he made a gesture similar to the celebration.
It was quite clear he was asking the five-time Ballon d’Or winner whether it was okay to join in the frenzy and perform the celebration as well.
The celebration became popular after Ronaldo scored his 700th club career goal in the Premier League clash against Everton.
