Ahead of United’s trip to Omonia in Cyprus, the United boss was on media duty, where he shed more light on the Ronaldo equation.
Asked whether leaving out Cristiano Ronaldo was because he was planning for a future without the star, Ten Hag said in a clip shared by Sky Sports.
“I can’t see the relation (between not bringing Ronaldo on and his future),”
“When we are 4-0 down, 5-1 down, 6-1 down. I didn’t bring him on out or respect It had nothing to do with what is happening for the future,”
The former Ajax man was also asked about Ronaldo’s mood and whether he was negatively affecting the squad.
“I don’t see that he is unhappy. He is training well and enjoying. Everyone is training well and there is a good spirit so that is not a point (sic),” he went on.
