Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both grabbed hat-tricks, with Antony and Anthony Martial halving the deficit late in the game.
Despite scoring a wonderful goal in his second successive Premier League game, Antony failed to heed to Erik ten Hag's instructions, as the Mirror reports.
Ten Hag had reportedly instructed Antony to track back and help Diogo Dalot defend against the marauding and incessant Jack Grealish and Bernando Silva.
To make matters worse, Dalot was booked in the first minute of the game, which meant he had to tread carefully for the rest of the game. Ten Hag instructed Antony to aid the Portuguese international.
It remains unclear what Ten Hag did to ensure his instructions had been passed along as Antony remained on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes.
The defeat was Manchester United's third defeat of the season after their first two losses to Brighton and Brentford.
