20-time English Premier League champions Manchester United overpaid for transfers in the last decade by a whopping £210 million.
The amount is more than any other club in Europe, with the Red Devils attempting several times in the last decade to return to the top by splashing money on the big names.
United overpaid for players
According to CIES Football Observatory, United spent £1.4 billion on 33 players since 2012 when they were worth a combined £1.19 billion, magnifying the mess at the top of the club in that span.

Their most expensive signing have been Paul Pogba, who joined from Juventus in 2016 for £89 million, Antony for £85 million, and Harry Maguire for £80 million.
The likes of Jadon Sancho, Romelu Lukaku, Angel Di Maria, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial, Fred and Lisandro Martinez have also cost them in excess of £50m during that time.
Juventus are next on the list having spent £208 million over the true market value of the 36 players they've signed in that time frame.
Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and Barcelona did the shrewdest deals during that span. Atletico signed 32 players for £520 million when their true value was £592 million.
Barcelona signed 40 players for £1.29 billion when their true worth was £1.32 billion. Wolves ranked top among Premier League clubs.

Earlier Sports Brief reported on Erik Ten Hag's January budget which is expected to be more than £100 million if Cristiano leaves.
