Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has revealed his desire to taste a popular West African dish, jollof, following his arrival in Ghana.
The France and Manchester United legend was given a rapturous welcome at the Kotoko International Airport as he touched down for his tour of Africa.
In a video posted on social media, Evra who was stunned by the reception, admitted he is ready to taste Ghanaian jollof.
“It’s crazy. I didn’t expect this kind of warm reception from all the Ghanaian people,” a delighted Evra said.

“It’s my first time in Ghana and I’ll remember that all my life. I love this game. I already feel the love. I’ve been to Nigeria and Senegal and I can tell you this is the best welcome. The next thing to try is the Ghana jollof.”
Jollof is a common dish in West Africa, with Ghana and Nigeria creating a rivalry over the popular food. Evra will have the chance to distinguish between the Ghana and Nigerian jollof.
Evra is promoting his book and has already been to Senegal, the country of his birth, and Nigeria as part of his tour.
The 41-year-old enjoyed a successful football career, playing for Monaco, Manchester United, Juventus and West Ham.

FootballEarlier, Sports Brief reported that former Manchester United star Patrice Evra arrived at the Kotoka International Airport in Ghana amid glitz, glamour and fanfare.
The ex-France international earlier disclosed in a social media post that he was heading to the West African country as part of his tour of the continent.
Evra, who is famous for making inspiring videos on social media with the theme ‘I Love This Game’, had expressed so much anticipation ahead of his visit to Ghana.
