Jose Mourinho could not help himself as he aimed a subtle dig at his former club Manchester United following AS Roma’s triumph in the Europa Conference League.
Manchester United remain trophy-less five years in, with their last taste of silverware being in the Mourinho era, when the Portuguese guided the club to Europa League success.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, who succeeded Mourinho at Old Trafford, have both been unsuccessful in their bid to bring back the glory days back to the club.
According to Mourinho, winning titles should come naturally for any manager of Manchester United.
"As you know I have won European competitions with four different clubs.” Mourinho stated as quoted by The Sun.
"Winning with Manchester United even though it was a Manchester United side that lacked the quality of proper United sides, winning with Manchester United is almost natural."
Interestingly, Mourinho also seemed to success that his other European successes - A Champions League with FC Porto and Inter Milan, held more weight that the Europa League success with Manchester United.
"Winning the Champions League with Porto is not normal. Bringing joy to people winning the Champions League with Inter.
"Inter is naturally a huge club, but I think it was 50 years since they had won the Champions League and bringing joy to the fans.”
Mourinho also recently confirmed that he would remain as the Roma boss next season, saying he felt part of the club.
Meanwhile, United appointed former Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag as their new manager, with the Dutchman having an uphill task of restoring the club’s status as a giant of England.

Recently, the AS Roma boss went viral for a wholesome moment with Roma players.
After the triumph in the Europa Conference League, Mourinho had his post-match press conference interrupted by his players, who were in a celebratory mood.
A video doing rounds online shows Mourinho being showered in beer by excited players in full glare of the cameras.
