Nemanja Matic has disclosed details of an interesting conversation he had with Cristiano Ronaldo. Matic is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season. He played his final game at Old Trafford in United’s 3-0 win over Brentford last week.
The Serbian was applauded widely by the fans when interim manager Ralf Rangnick substituted him. After the game, he wanted to head down the tunnel but Ronaldo implored him to take a lap of honour.
I wanted to get off the field as soon as possible because I don’t like to have something revolving around me and to be the centre of attention. But Ronaldo told me ‘Wait, what are you doing? Come back.’ It is a great honour to share a dressing room with him every day.
Matic’s time at Manchester United will come to an end after over five years at the club. Manchester Evening News reports that he is contented after saying his goodbyes.

Matic still unsure of his next club
The 33-year-old joined Manchester United from Chelsea in 2017. He is yet to announce his next destination but the Daily Mail understands that Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing him to AS Roma.
