FootballAngry Manchester United Fans Turn on Club After Lowly Defeat to Everton
- Manchester United’s top four hopes took a huge hit after the 1-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday
- The Red Devils are stuck in seventh place after the defeat, with fans now saying the season could be over
- Ralf Rangnick’s side has only won one of their last five Premier League games
Manchester United fans did not hold back in their criticism of the team after the team suffered a lowly defeat to Everton in the early kickoff on Saturday, April 9.
United were slight favourites to overcome a struggling Everton, who barely had 72 hours to recover after a gruelling away game at Burnley midweek where they lost 3-2.
But in front of their fans, the Toffees put up quite an impressive performance as Frank Lampard reintegrated the experienced duo of Fabian Delph and Seamus Coleman to try to upset the visitors.
That is exactly what they did, as Anthony Gordon's heavily deflected strike in the 27th minute was enough for Everton to claim all three points.
Despite a bright start from Manchester United, the side failed to create much in attack, and overall the game was devoid of too mouth goalmouth action.
Everton will not mind, however, as they claimed all three points which the club badly needed amid a daunting fight to avoid relegation.
What Man United fans said
It did not take long for Manchester United fans to make their feelings known after the game.
Majority of the fans faulted their team’s style of play, while others expressed their pessimism at finishing in the top four.
“This Utd team is the worst since Fergie... and since the EPL started. I mean the very worst!” One fan lamented.
“The only positive is that United always knows how to give points for the teams that really need.” Added another.
“Now I accept we are a small team,” another fan commented.
“Pathetic!!! Shameful performance from the entire team,” said another.

Football“Let’s just forget about this season and just hopefully sell players that don’t belong to this great club and look forwards rebuilding again,” another fan added.
Which way, United?
Defeat to Everton summed up what has been another underwhelming season for Manchester United.
Despite Ralf Rangnick stepping in on interim basis, United are certain to end the season without silverware, and a top four finish is now looking like a distant dream.
Their run of fixtures is not going to get any easier in the closing stages of the season as they face Liverpool, Arsenal Chelsea and Brighton in their next six games.
