Ghana international Edmund Addo is set to miss the crucial World Cup play-off against Nigeria later this week.
The Black Stars will face the Super Eagles in a gigantic encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday with the second leg of the play-offs set to be played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on March 29th.
Ahead of the game, footballghana has reported that FC Sheriff Tiraspol's midfielder, Addo, has been ruled out of the gigantic clash after he sustained an injury during his side's league game against Sfintul Gheorghe in Moldova's top-tier league on Sunday.
Addo landed at the Black Stars camp on Monday and underwent a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to examine the extent of the iinjury under the supervision of the Ghana medical staff.
However, the results of the MRI scan revealed that the 21-year-old defensive midfielder will not be available for selection in the next double-header against Nigeria.
His absence will be a big blow for the coach Otto Addo, despite having the best central midfielders - Thomas Partey and Baba Iddrisu - in their fold.
The Black Stars held their first training session in Kumasi on Tuesday ahead of their blockbuster World Cup play-off against Nigeria on Friday, 25th February.
