Cristiano Ronaldo is set to hold showdown talks with his agent Jorge Mendes, with an exit from Manchester United a real possibility, according to stunning new reports.
The Portuguese superstar has reportedly become disillusioned at Old Trafford and is open to leaving the club just one season after his dream return.
Daily Star reports that the 37-year-old wants to meet with his agent in Portugal during the international break in March to iron out details about his future.
Ronaldo is seriously considering his future at Manchester United as he ponders on who the next manager at the club would be.
Under interim boss Ralf Rangnick, Ronaldo has failed to shine and is now goalless in his last five league matches.
United have slipped to sixth place in the Premier League after a draw against bottom-placed Burnley, and were recently knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough via a penalty shootout.
Rangnick, who was brought in to try and steady the Manchester United ship, has been bold in his team selections and often starts Ronaldo on the bench when he needs to tweak the team’s setup.
The 37-year-old has a deal until 2023 but will wait to see who will be the next man in the Manchester United dugout before making a decision on his future.
United’s managerial options
Further reports claim that Manchester United are seriously considering appointing Mauricio Pochettino, currently the manager at PSG.
But it is believed that Rangnick, who will have a consultancy role at United after his interim period is over, prefers Erik Ten Haag to succeed him.

Cristiano Jr unveiled as Manchester United player
Elsewhere, Cristiano’s son Cristiano Jr was recently officially unveiled as a Manchester United player and is set to represent the club in the under 12 level.
The 11-year old will wear his father’s iconic number 7 and was spotted holding his shirt during an unveiling alongside another wonder kid.
The announcement was made rather inadvertently by youngster Gabriel, who was sharing his own news that he had signed for the club officially.
