Uruguay international Ronald Araujo who plays for Barcelona could be on his way to the Premier League in future as Manchester United are said to be interested in signing the defender.

Those in charge of the Old Trafford side are reported to even be leading other European clubs in the race to sign Ronald Araujo.

And to make things sweet, the player himself is said to be aware that Manchester United are looking for him according to the report on UK Sun and Marca.

However, Manchester United will face serious competition from the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea who are also said to be interested in the player.

The reports even that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was pictured having dinner with the 22-year-old's agent Edmundo Kabchi earlier this week.

Why is Chelsea interested in signing Ronald Araujo?

Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta's contracts run out in June and these players are yet to sign new deals.

Chelsea chiefs are now looking at Ronald Araujo as a player who can help the Blues in future.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Manchester United winger, Jesse Lingard is attracting lots of interest from Europe’s elite clubs as the England international’s contract with the Old Trafford club expires at the end of the season.

Italian giants Juventus and Spanish club Barcelona are thought to be interested in the United winger as both clubs have started making plans to strengthen their squad ahead of next season

Valencia have also identified the 28-year old as a major target for next summer as they plan to challenge for the La Liga next season.

Lingard has only featured for 88minutes all season for Manchester United which has prompted the England international to seek a move away from the Red Devils.
