Inaki Williams aims jibe at Barcelona after another controversial refereeing decision
FootballFans React As Manchester City Star Escapes Red Card After Tackle on Leipzig Player
- Ederson managed to avoid a red card following a high tackle on Konrad Laimer
- The goalkeeper moved out of his penalty box to clear a dangerous move
- He somehow didn't get punished after he clattered a Leipzig player instead
Ederson Moraes might consider himself a bit fortunate after escaping a red card during Manchester City's 7-0 thrashing of RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.
The Brazilian is normally deployed as a sweeper keeper for Pep Guardiola's side and frequently comes out of his box to clear out danger.
However, the 29-year-old completely missed his kick and appeared to foul Konrad Laimer when the ball was fed in behind.
Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic chose not to give Ederson his marching orders but instead decided to book Timo Werner for what appeared to be dissent.

How is this not a red card for Ederson? He clearly misses the ball and takes out Laimer. Man City bought this ref man

Ederson is nowhere near the ball here. Should have been red card. Instead Timo Werner gets a yellow card. Ridiculous! What are they doing in the VAR room?

Manchester City controversial penalty vs Leipzig
Sports Brief had earlier reported that RB Leipzig had every reason to feel hard done by during their game against Manchester City.
Going into the second leg tie, the sides were level at 1-1, but City took the lead in the game and the tie due to an Erling Haaland penalty.
The Norwegian stepped up to convert after Benjamin Hendricks was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.
However, the Leipzig defender, his teammates, and even football fans are amazed by the decision.
