Williams' tweet was very clear in expressing his displeasure with the contentious VAR decision to reverse the equalizer.

The forward’s action adds to the stormy atmosphere created by El Caso Negreira which accuses Barcelona of making payments totalling €7million from 2001 to 2018 made to Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, the former vice president of the refereeing committee.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen on Athletic win

Meanwhile, Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen revealed they are happy to have earned a win against a difficult Athletico Bilbao team on Sunday, March 12, SB Nation reports.

Ter Stegen was delighted to have kept another clean sheet in La Liga, taking his total tally to 19 in 25 matches played so far this season.

Raphinha’s first-half strike was enough for Barcelona to depart San Mames Barria with all three points against Athletico Bilbao to maintain their lead on top of the La Liga table.

Fans call for Barcelona’s relegation

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Barcelona faced a hostile atmosphere by Athletico Bilbao supporters at the San Mames Barria during their La Liga clash on Sunday, March 13.

The Catalans had grabbed a hard-fought 1-0 win against their hosts, but the game was marred by supporters who chanted for Barcelona to be relegated following their refereeing scandal.

Barcelona manager, Xavi revealed after the game he was saddened by the reaction from Bilbao fans as he claims the Catalans are being judged even before they’re found guilty.
