  • Erling Haaland scored from the penalty spot to help Manchester City beat Crystal Palace on March 11th
  • Haaland's celebrations after the game have created an online debate after he appeared to celebrate with an opponent player
  • The Norwegian is targeting the Golden Boot and Premier League in his first season in England

Erling Haaland continued with his procession to the Golden Boot in his maiden season in the Premier League after scoring once to help Manchester City claim maximum points against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Haaland scored from the spot after Michael Olise fouled Ilkay Gundogan on a day where the defending champions struggled to break down Patrick Viera's side.

The win saw City cut Arsenal's lead at the top to just two points ahead of the Gunners' game vs Fulham on Sunday.

Haaland bagged his 28th goal of the campaign and just like the rest of his teammates, he was relieved to get the three points. He might be assured of the Golden Boot despite Harry Kane breathing down his neck, but the Norwegian would prefer if City were to beat Arsenal to the title.

Known for his pompous celebrations, the 22-year-old took it a notch higher when he appeared to celebrate with Crystal Palace's defender Joel Ward after the final whistle.

In the video, Haaland is seen hugging at shouting at his teammates in total delight before Ward approached him to greet him as post-match rituals dictate. The striker slaps himself first before seemingly shoving Ward playfully the way he does with his teammates.

Ward could easily have taken offence to Haaland's antics as the striker rubbing in their win, but luckily, he walked away as Haaland continued shouting and celebrating.

"Joel Ward is too nice. Anyone else would’ve lamped him."
