The Ukraine international left Manchester City for Arsenal before the start of last season. He has settled well in London becoming a core member of Mikel Arteta's side in their hunt for the Premier League trophy.

He came off the bench at the Etihad in the second half as Arsenal attempted to get a late equaliser after going behind to Nathan Ake's crisp finish.

Zinchenko was all smiles

Despite their best efforts, Manchester City held on to progress to the next round. The result didn't dampen the mood of Zinchenko as he cordially mingled with City players after the game.

Grealish was seen holding him by the ear with Ilkay Gundogan, Ruben Dias, Kyle Walker, Joao Cancelo and Nathan Ake not so far away. He, later on, gave his shirt to Walker as they trodded down the tunnel.

Does Guardiola miss Zinchenko?

Given Zinchenko's impact at Arsenal, this issue has always been up for debate on whether Pep Guardiola and City honchos made the right call in allowing not only Zinchenko to leave but Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling as well.

City have struggled at times this season with Cancelo's form, particularly a worrying sign. Ake has stepped in on a number of occasions in the void left by Zinchenko.
