However, Guardiola's tactical move failed to pay off as City were held to a 0-0 frustrating draw by the Danish side.

However, one outstanding thing from the clash was City's lack of incisiveness in front of the gaol without Haaland.

Haaland has enjoyed a fine start to life with Man City, with the Norwegian scoring goals for the fun of it.

Haaland has netted 19 times in just 12 appearances for the Citizens in what is described as one of the best starts for a striker, but Guardiola believes the forward is nowhere near Messi’s quality.
